Athletic Associations
Two athletic associations provide baseball/softball opportunities for our youth: Ingomar Franklin Park Little League (IFPLL) and the McCandless Athletic Association (McAA). While the Town doesn't operate these groups, the Town does support them. For more information, please visit their websites.
The North Allegheny Soccer Club provides recreational soccer activities for children in the area covered by the Town of McCandless, Bradford Woods Borough, Marshall Township, and Franklin Park Borough. For more information about this organization, please visit their website.
The North Allegheny Inline Hockey Club is a club sport for the North Allegheny (NA) School District. NA Inline is open to all North Allegheny school students (boys and girls) in grades 2 to 12. The club participates in the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Roller Hockey League (PIRHL), with the season beginning in September and running through March. Participants need to be able to skate at a basic level to participate, and all players are evaluated and placed on an appropriately tiered team according to their skill level. Registration is held from March 15 to April 15 each year, followed by evaluations each May. For more information, please visit their website.
Tiger Pride offers youth the opportunity to play football under the United Youth Football League.
If you like basketball, you can try the North Allegheny Basketball Association, an in-house program that offers clinics, team practices and league games in a less-competitive setting.
Other Opportunities
In addition to serving its youth through athletic associations, the Town offers its residents many recreational opportunities. Please visit the North Allegheny School District, as well as the Baierl Family YMCA.
