On September 8, 2001, the Town of McCandless celebrated its 150th anniversary with our first Community Day. We have had one annually ever since.
A Committee Day Planning Committee meets almost monthly from January or February until the big day. Committee members and additional volunteers undertake the day’s events: a parade, craft and food booths, entertainment, amusement rides, car cruise, and fireworks.
The Committee is composed entirely of volunteers who serve at their own pleasure. The Town always is anxious for applicants.
