Town Council on Monday unanimously appointed Don Hart to serve as the Councilmember representing Ward 6. He was sworn-in by District Judge William Wagner after the vote.
Hart replaces Carolyn Schweiger, who stepped down recently. The term runs through January 5, 2026.
He attained a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Dayton and did graduate work at Carnegie Mellon University. He has spent 40 years working in science, engineering and sales, currently working as a technical manager at Atomized Materials Inc. in McDonald.
Hart currently serves as secretary to the Pittsburgh Society for Coating Technology, hospitality minister at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, volunteers on fundraising committee for the Knights of Columbus “Coats for Kids” initiative, and volunteers for Alex’s Community Volunteers. He also served as a volunteer for Community Day in the past.
