Tax Associate (part-time)

The Town of McCandless is seeking qualified candidates to serve as a part-time Tax Associate ($18/hour).

The Tax Associate assists the Tax Administrator in all aspects of the Tax Administrator’s duties related to the collection of taxes and the maintenance of all records to ensure proper accounting of funds. Experience in an office environment including Microsoft Office software and email, and basic proficiency using Microsoft Excel for data collection and analysis including creating and manipulating spreadsheets with multiple tabs and formulas required. Payroll and HR specialist (full-time)

The Town of McCandless has an opening for a full-time Payroll and Human Resources Specialist. The Payroll and HR Specialist performs tasks directly related to payroll, human resources, and the administration of the Town’s benefit and pension programs. A Bachelor’s Degree in human resource management, accounting, or business is required.  A complete job description can be found here. The starting salary is $47,000 – $51,000 DOQ, plus benefits. Bid notices

Notice to bidders (Town Hall window replacement project)

The Town of McCandless will receive sealed bids for the Town Hall Window Replacement project until 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at the Town Hall Building located at 9955 Grubbs Road, Wexford, PA, 15090.  Bids will be thereafter publicly opened and read at 1:30 p.m. in the Powers Meeting Room at the Town Hall. All bids must be submitted to the attention of Brian O’Malley, Town Manager, and marked “Town Hall Window Replacement”.  Proposals to receive consideration must be accompanied by a certified check or bidder’s bond from a surety company authorized to do business in Pennsylvania, made to the order of the “Town of McCandless”, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the proposal.

Sealed Bids will be received for the following contracts:

1. General Construction Contract

All bids must be on a lump sum basis; segregated bids will not be accepted. Bidders shall be responsible for verifying all addenda prior to submitting bid. Failure to acknowledge receipt of addenda may result in disqualification of bid. 

Bid Documents will be available, starting Wednesday, March 23, 2023, for a non-refundable fee, by contacting Accu-Copy Reprographics, 302 Thompson Park Drive, Cranberry Township, PA 16066 or (724) 935-7055.  

A mandatory, pre-bid conference will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 31, 2023, at the Town of McCandless Town Hall, 9955 Grubbs Road, Wexford, PA, 15090. A site visit is also mandatory prior to bid submission and all interested parties may access the site following the pre-bid conference.

The Contractor, within ten (10) days after the date the Contractor is notified of the Contract award, will be required to furnish a faithful Performance bond in the amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum and a Payment Bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum.

The Town of McCandless reserves the right to waive any information or to reject any or all bids and to enter into such a contract as may be deemed in the best interest of the Town of McCandless.

 

Notice to bidders (2023 paving program)

Sealed Bids will be received by THE TOWN OF McCANDLESS, Department of Public Works, 9957 Grubbs Road, Wexford, PA 15090, for the following:

Primary Items – Paving of various streets to include the following approximate quantities:

  • 87,058 S.Y. of Milling
  • 3,200 S.Y of 3” Superpave 25.0 mm Binder Course, PG 64-22
  • 29,185 S.Y. of 1 1/2” Superpave 9.5 mm Fine-Graded Wearing Surface, PG 64-22
  • 57,873 S.Y. of 2” Superpave 9.5 mm Fine-Graded Wearing Surface, PG 64-22
  • 64,550 L.F. of Asphalt Wedge Curb
  • 26,400 L.F. Painted Line Striping (Temporary)
  • 52,800 L.F. Painted Line Striping (Permanent) 
  • Traffic Control

All Bids must be in the hands of Jeff Schoeneman, Superintendent of Public Works, not later than 10:00 A.M., prevailing time, Wednesday, March 29, 2023, and will be publicly opened and read at that time in The Town of McCandless Public Works Building located at 9957 Grubbs Road, Wexford, PA 15090.
