Code Enforcement Officer (full-time)

Pay: $52,000

Job Type: Full-time

The Town of McCandless is accepting applications from qualified individuals for the position of Code Enforcement Officer in the Planning and Development Office.

The Code Enforcement Officer is responsible for enforcing the Town of McCandless’s property maintenance regulations. This includes the development of solutions to remediate properties of concern, investigating code violations, issuing letters of abatement, and administering violation warnings.

A successful candidate will possess knowledge of inspections for the purpose of identifying and documenting Town code and ordinance violations. This employee will be able to complete notices of violation while working proactively with property owners to achieve ordinance compliance. They will be responsible for preparing case files while providing testimonies for the municipal court and report to supervising staff and Town Council on such activities. Physical work involved with this position includes those activities required for investigation and enforcement of code violations. Residential building inspection or other related building inspection certifications strongly preferred. If hired without the applicable inspection certifications, the applicant will be required to earn them within one (1) year of employment.

Summer Help Laborer (Department of Public Works)

The Town of McCandless is seeking summer help with a variety of public works tasks.

The Summer Help Laborer will perform a variety of tasks including but not limited to mowing lawns, grounds keeping, maintaining shrubbery, and assisting Public Works crews with street paving projects. They will also operate automotive and power equipment including light, moderate, and heavy equipment. Must be able to exercise independent judgment and make decisions within the scope of each assignment. The Summer Help Laborer may be assigned specific duties or assigned to work primarily in a specific division such as street, signage, sewer, or parks.

Employment will be dependent upon the completion of a mandatory drug test and physical.

Compensation will be $16.25 per hour and 40 hours per week up to 12 weeks.

Pension Investment Services RFP

The Town Of McCandless is soliciting proposals from interested firms for the provision of Municipal Pension Fund Investment Services for the Police and Non-Uniformed Pension Plans currently totaling approximately $20.1 million in assets. The request for proposals includes: Listing of Services Required, Minimum Requirements to Respond, Listing, Overview of the RFP Evaluation Process, Detailed Applicant Review & Interview Rating Criteria, Timetable of Events and Specific Closing Dates, Listing of Questions and Act 44 Disclosure. North Meadows Drive basin retrofit

Sealed Proposals will be received by the Town of McCandless, at the Town Building, 9955 Grubbs Road, Wexford, PA 15090 until 10:00 AM on May 27, 2022 to be publicly opened and read immediately thereafter for the following project:

NORTH MEADOWS DRIVE BASIN RETROFIT

This project is for the retrofitting of the existing stormwater basin with a forebay and spillway. The work includes, but is not limited to site clearing; the unclassified bulk excavation and sediment removal of a stormwater detention facility; removal and haul-off of excavated material; installation, maintenance and removal of erosion controls; removal of a portion of the existing underdrain; installation of aggregate and rip-rap; site protection; site restoration, complete in place. An add alternate bid price for a soil amendment is also being requested.

All Proposals must be in the hands of Robert Grimm, Town Manager before 10:00 AM, local time, on May 27, 2022 at the Town Building, 9955 Grubbs Road, Wexford, PA 15090 and the same will be publicly opened and read immediately thereafter, Proposals shall be delivered in a sealed envelope and clearly marked on the outside with the words " NORTH MEADOWS DRIVE BASIN RETROFIT ".

A non-mandatory prebid meeting will be held on Monday, May 16, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the project site at the intersection of N. Meadow Drive and Forest Meadow Drive.

Pennsylvania Prevailing wage rates MUST be paid on this Contract.

Copies of Bidding and Contract Documents are on file and open to public inspection at the Issuing Office, The Gateway Engineers, Inc., 100 McMorris Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15205 where sets of said documents may be obtained upon payment of $25.00 per set plus a shipping charge if the Bidder requests document shipping. An electronic file, PDF, is also available upon request. No refund will be made for the return of any documents.

Performance, Maintenance, and Labor and Material Payment Bonds, along with Public Liability and Property Damage Certificates of Insurance in the amounts specified, as well as Certificates of Workman's Compensation must be filed with the executed Agreement upon acceptance of the Proposal from the successful Bidder.

Proposals to receive consideration must be accompanied by a Certified Check or Bidder's Bond from a Surety Company authorized to do business in Pennsylvania, made to the order of the Town of McCandless in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the Proposal as a guarantee that, if the Proposal is accepted, the successful Bidder will enter into an Agreement within 15 days after Notice of the Award of the Contract.

The Proposals must be made to the Town of McCandless Allegheny County Pennsylvania and shall remain firm for a period of sixty (60) days.  No Bidder may withdraw his Proposal during the sixty (60) day period without forfeiting his Bid guarantee. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Proposals, or any part thereof, for any reason, and also reserves the right to waive any informality therein.
