PennDOT has announced the long-term closure of the McKinney Road bridge over the North Fork of Pine Creek in McCandless, beginning Thursday, June 7 (weather permitting).
Bridge rehabilitation work including the replacement of the bridge superstructure, parapet and deck work, and approach roadway upgrades will occur on this improvement project. To allow the work to occur, McKinney Road will close to thru-traffic at 7 a.m. Thursday between Pearce Mill Road and Kummer Road continuously through August 7.
Motorists will use Brown Road as a detour route. Drivers heading east on McKinney should veer left onto Kummer Road and make a right on Brown Road, which will spill out onto Pearce Mill Road. Drivers heading west should head north on Pearce Mill Road, make a left on Brown Road and then make an immediate left onto Kummer Road (which will meet McKinney Road).
Crews from Pugliano Construction will conduct the work.
