Located in the North Hills of Allegheny County, McCandless Township was officially created in 1851, after legislation carved it out of Pine Township. Named after Judge Wilson McCandless, a judge of the United States District Court of Western Pennsylvania, it became the Town of McCandless on January 1, 1975, and is now a home rule municipality operating under a charter. Today, nearly 28,457 residents occupy the the Town of McCandless’ 16.4 square miles.

North from Pittsburgh: I-279 north to McKnight Road exit to Ingomar Road/North Park exit. LEFT onto Grubbs Road.
South from I-79: Use Route 910 (Wexford) exit. LEFT onto Route 910, RIGHT onto Brandt School Road, LEFT onto Ingomar Road; cross over Ingomar Road/Perry Highway signalized intersection; continue on Ingomar Road, LEFT onto Grubbs Road.
East from Turnpike: Route 8 South, RIGHT onto Wildwood Road (yellow belt). Wildwood becomes Ingomar Road at Babcock Boulevard. RIGHT onto Grubbs Road.
West from I-79: Mt. Nebo exit (yellow belt), LEFT onto Arndt Road, LEFT onto Reis Run Road becomes Ingomar Heights Road, becomes Ingomar Road. LEFT onto Grubbs Road.
