The McCandless Police Department will now be accepting unwanted, unused, or expired medications. This service is designed for McCandless residents but effectively is anonymous.
The service is available 7 days a week between 8 am and 4 pm. Residents who are interested should bring their medications in a plastic bag and come to the window inside the station. If a secretary or officer is not visible, use the phone on the wall to contact an officer, who will collect the medicine.
Prescription medications and patches, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and medicines for pets are accepted. Prohibited items include needles, inhalers, thermometers, hydrogen peroxide, aerosol cans, medications from businesses or clinics, and ointments, lotions, or other liquids.
