Emergency
Residents should dial 911 whenever they have an emergency or need an immediate response from police, fire, or medical services. You should never hesitate to dial 911 even if you are not certain you are in an emergency situation. If you are not sure, err on the side of safety and dial 911.
In an emergency situation, it is important for the call-taker to know:
- The address of location of the emergency, including the municipality
- The telephone number where the emergency is
- The nature of the emergency
- The caller's name
- It is important that you stay calm, speak clearly, and stay on the phone until you are told to hang up
